Jeepney Cagayan de Oro is accessible by land, air and water transportation. The place can assure safe and secure journey. You can easily roam around the city by any means of land transportation. If you only want to go around the city proper you can ride the Motorela or Rela (it is the Cagayan de Oro’s version of Philippine tricycle). It can accommodate 6-8 passengers but you would get cramped inside the rela. But if you will go distant places around the city you can get a ride with jeepney’s and buses. Jeepney’s conductors in Cagayan are aggressive in picking passengers and they would come across your way and ask you where are you going and would help you of your belongings even though you wont ask for their assistance. If you are in a hurry you will be advised to take a taxi cab because Jeepney’s would take so long to arrive at your destination, they tend to stop every major street intersection to wait for upcoming passengers, and it will surely pissed you off. Taxi’s are all around the city and you won’t be having hard time waiting for them; these taxis are mostly new models, to site some, Avanza, Altis and Toyota. Going in high places in Cagayan, you will ride in motorcycle so called habal-habal, with these you would be more comfortable. Buses are available in going out side the city, there are terminals in different places, for people going to Bukidnon, Agora terminal is their starting point, and going to Iligan or some places is there Bulua terminal is in service.

The seaport in Cagayan is one of the busiest ports in the country, it is located at Macabalan. There are regular ferry trips to/from Cagayan de Oro to major cities in the Visayas region and Manila. In air transportation Cagayan had Lumbia Airport to accommodate it, Lumbia Airport is the third major airport in Mindanao. It caters domestic flights to/from Manila and Cebu. From Manila, it is an hour and fifteen minutes away by plane and from Cebu it is forty-five minutes away. There is ongoing construction on the Laguindingan International Airport located in Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental. When it finished, the international airport will serve Northern Mindanao including its major cities; Iligan and Cagayan de Oro.
